Women's Lacrosse Hosts Coastal Carolina on Saturday Afternoon
February 23, 2018 | Women's Lacrosse
The Cardinals and Chanticleers will square off at 12 p.m. ET.
The Cardinals suffered their first loss of the season last Saturday, but regrouped by rolling past Butler, 20-4, on Thursday.
The 20 goals marked their most since they had 20 against American on March 31, 2015.Â
Alex McNicholas led the offensive attack by scoring the first four goals of her career, while adding her first two career assists. She also added four ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers.
"Alex was on fire, she was all over the ball every chance she got," said head coach Scott Teeter.
The four goals allowed are the lowest since they allowed the same a year ago in a 9-4 win vs. Robert Morris on Feb. 12, 2017.
Lexie Ball finished with nine saves on 13 attempts for a career-high .692 save percentage.
"Lexie held her own and the defense took Butler out of their comfort zone, forcing them into some shots that she could handle," said Teeter.
The 16-point goal differential is the most since the Cards downed Duquesne 17-0 on March 4, 2015.
