Women's Swimming and Diving Heading into Final Night at ACC Championships

Comerford is the favorite to repeat in the 100.
The University of Louisville will be vying for the crown on the final day of preliminaries at the 2018 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Sitting in second going into the final night of competition, the Cards trail only Virginia. The Cavs have won nine of the last 10 crowns going into tonight.

In the 200 back, Ashlyn Schoof (1:55.00) and Alina Kendzior (1:44.09) will return in the B-final for the Cardinals.

Mallory Comerford will look to defend her ACC title of a year ago in the 100-free and qualified first with a time of 47.40. Lainey Visscher will join her in the A-final, qualifying sixth with a time of 48.39. Casey Fanz is the top seed in the B-final with a time of 48.65. Arina Openysheva will be in the C-final, after posting a 49.24.  Avery Braunecker posted a 49.58, Nastja Govejsek had a 49.97 and Gracie Long went 50.23 as the other Cardinals competing in the event.

The Cardinals had the top two qualifiers and will have a total of four in the A-final led by leader Rachael Bradford Feldman's 2:09.42. Mariia Astashkina will be seeded second after posting a 2:09.76. Morgan Friesen was fourth with a 2:11.33 and Lauren James was fifth with a 2:11.42.

Grace Oglesby, who won the 100 fly last night, will look for a sweep as the second fastest qualifier in the 200 fly, posting a time of 1:54.61. Carley Lowe will be in the B-final with a 1:59.54.

Also featured tonight will be the 1650 free in a timed final.

In diving, Daniel Fecteau qualified 8th in platform and for the women, Molly Fears was 10th with 213.40, Michaela Sliney was 24th with 169.40 and Brianna Price was 25th with a score of 165.20.
