Women's Swimming Sends 13 to Finals after Day 3 Prelims

Mallory Comerford is the top seed in the 200 freestyle
The University of Louisville will send 13 swimmers to the finals after Day 3 of preliminaries at the 2018 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

In the 100 fly, Grace Oglesby won the final heat of the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.78 and will be seeded second going into tonight's finals. Nastja Govejsek put up a 52.71 in the 100-fly prelims and finished third in heat 4 to make the A-final as the sixth seed. Ashlyn Schoolf put up a 55.14 to round out the field.

In 400-IM, Rachael Bradford Feldman posted the winning time of 4:08.23 in her heat and advanced to the A-final . Carley Lowe boarded a 4:15.50 in her heat and will swim in the B-final. In the final heat of the 400 IM, Maggie Jahns went 4:19.53 to round out the field.

Mallory Comerford threw down the fastest time in the 200 free prelims with a 1:43.76 to advance as the top seed. ! Sophie Cattermole throws down a 1:45.74 and is third in her heat and made the B-final. Arina Openysheva had a 1:46.52 to join Cattermole in the B-final.  Casey Fanz boarded a 1:47.82 in her heat and made the C-final.  Gracie Long won her heat of the 200-free with a 1:49.18 and Emily Moser went 1:49.71 for fifth in her heat to round out the field. Morgan Friesen boarded a 1:00.49 in the 100-breast and made the A-final as the fifth seed. Mariia Astashkina posted a time of 1:00.76 and earned a second swim in the A-final. Lauren James put up a 1:01.33 will be the top seed in the B-final. Avery Braunecker went 1:02.37in her heat and snuck in the C-final.

In the 100 back, UofL's top qualifier was Alina Kendzior, who went 52.59 and made the A-final. Ashlyn Schoof went 53.16 and is the second seed in the B-final. Lainey Visscher went 27.56 in her heat and qualified 12th overall.

After six rounds of diving: Molly Fears has 272.70 (12th), Brianna Price 254.05 (20th) and Michaela Sliney has 201.05 (35th).
