Cardinals Rise to No. 22 in AVCA Coaches Poll

Louisville is ranked for the second straight week heading into showdown with Notre Dame and Virginia Tech this week.
The University of Louisville volleyball team moved up to No. 22 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll. The Cardinals are 13-4 and remain unbeaten in the ACC at 6-0.

The reigning ACC champions are led by outside hitter Melanie McHenry, who leads the Cards in kills with 217 and needs just 33 more kills to join the 1,000 Kill Club as a junior. Molly Sauer, a two-time ACC Defensive Player of the Year has amassed 268 digs and 21 service aces. Last year's Setter of the Year, Wilma Rivera, has 650 assists and 20 service aces. Freshman middle Emily Scott has quietly worked her way into a starting role and was named ACC Freshman of the Week on Oct. 8 for averaging 2.50 kills per set while posting a hitting percentage of .357 and averaged 0.833 blocks per set against Duke and Wake Forest last weekend. The Cards broke in to the rankings last week for the first time since 2016.
