
Fears, Fecteau Named ACC Divers of the Week

Molly Fears and Daniel Fecteau earn ACC Diver of the Week honors after helping the Cardinals to wins over Tennessee.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville divers Daniel Fecteau and Molly Fears have been named the male and female ACC Divers of the Week, which was announced Monday by the Atlantic Coast Conference office.
Fears swept the diving events in the Cardinals' 155-145 win over Tennessee, scoring 18 points to help the Louisville women remain undefeated on the season. The junior from Plainfield, Ind. recorded her best score of the season on the 3-meter, surpassing the NCAA Zone qualifying score by over 35 points with a mark of 315.53. Fears also captured the 1-meter victory, scoring an NCAA Zone qualifying mark of 286.05 to top Tennessee's Rachel Rubadue.
Fecteau earned a pair of NCAA Zone cuts on the 1-meter and 3-meter in the Cardinals' 156-144 win over Tennessee. The senior placed second to Tennessee's reigning CSCAA National Diver of the Year Zhipeng Zeng on the 1-meter, scoring over 20 points ahead of the third place finisher with a 336.15. On the 3-meter, he took third with a score of 342.60.
Fears and Fecteau will be back in action on Friday at 5 p.m. as the Cardinals welcome ACC foe Virginia to the Ralph Wright Natatorium for a two-day dual meet.
