
Thibodeau Leads Cards Through Two Rounds at Tar Heel Invitational

Lauren Thibodeau is tied for ninth and leads the way for Louisville.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Following Saturday's second round at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, University of Louisville women's golf is in seventh place at eight-over with Lauren Thibodeau leading the charge at two-under and tied for ninth.
After recording seven birdies and shooting a career-best 68 on Friday, Thibodeau entered play today tied for fourth. She opened with a double bogey on the first hole, but settled in and got back to even on the day following birdies on the sixth and tenth holes. She recorded three bogies in the final eight holes and finished the day at 74 (+2).
She enters the final round seven strokes behind the leader and three strokes out of third place.
Thibodeau was one of four Cardinals to shoot 74 on Saturday as she was joined by Olivia Cason, Lauren Hartlage and Mairead Martin. Margot Bechadergue rounded out play with a 75.
The Cardinals shot 288 on Friday and followed with a 296 on Saturday. They enter the final round 12 strokes out of third place.
Teams are slated to resume play at 9:15 a.m. ET tomorrow morning in a shotgun start.
