
BC Visits No. 10 Louisville on Military Appreciation Night at Lynn

Kickoff set for 7 p.m., ET on Friday in the ACC Atlantic Division matchup
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The No. 10 Louisville men's soccer team continues its three-match homestand at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium with an ACC Atlantic Division match against Boston College on Friday at 7 p.m., ET. The match will be televised on ACC Network Extra, while live scoring is available at GoCards.com.
MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT AT LYNN STADIUM
Friday is Military Appreciation Night at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium. Thanks to a generation donation from the Louisville Soccer Alumni Club, the first 250 former and active military personnel and former or active first repsonders will receive free admission to the Louisville-Boston College match. All other active and former military members and first responders will receive $2 general admission tickets or $3 reserved seating by calling 502-GO CARDS or with a valid military ID at the gate on Friday night.Â
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Louisville enters Friday's contest at 5-1-1 following Tuesday's 3-0 victory against IUPUI and 1-1-0 in the ACC after last week's 2-1 victory at No. 7 Syracuse. The Cardinals have a 5-1-1 record in their first seven matches for the second straight season and the third time in four years. Seniors Tim Kubel and Mohamed Thiaw lead Louisville with three goals each, while sophomore Cody Cochran and junior Adrien Cabon have two goals. Junior Adam Wilson has a team-leading four assists, one each in the last four matches.
ABOUT THE EAGLES
Boston College moved to 3-4-0 overall with Tuesday's 2-1 overtime win against Providence. The Eagles are 0-2-0 in the ACC with losses to top 10 foes Notre Dame and Clemson. Last season, BC was 9-9-3 overall and 3-3-2 in the ACC before ending 2016 in the second round of the NCAA Championship.

Tuesday's match will mark just fourth meeting all-time between the Cardinals and Eagles with Louisville holding a 2-0-1 edge in the series, which dates back to UofL's debut season in the ACC in 2014. All three previous matches in the series have gone to overtime, including last year's 1-1 draw in Newton, Mass. In BC's most recent visit to Lynn Stadium, the Cardinals earned a 2-1 double-overtime win.

With last Friday's road win at then-No. 7 Syracuse, Louisville gained seven spots in this week's United Soccer Coaches Poll landing at No. 10 overall while also gaining one position to No. 11 in the Soccer America Top 25. The Cardinals entered the season at No. 9 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll.Â

• The Cardinals have out-shot their opponents in all seven games this season.
• Tim Kubel leads the team with 18 career goals, while Mohamed Thiaw (15) and Tate Schmitt (13) are next.

• Both Kubel and Schmitt have six career game-winning goals for the Cardinals.
