Cards Battle No. 14 Indiana to 1-1 Draw

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville men's soccer team battled No. 14 Indiana to a 1-1 draw Monday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium to remain unbeaten on the year.
The Cardinals (3-0-1) took a second-half lead before the Hoosiers (3-0-1) answered to earn the draw. Louisville controlled 52 percent of possession and finished with a 10-6 advantage in shots, including a 4-1 edge in the first half.
After a scoreless opening half, Louisville broke through in the 58th minute when Andrés Escudero Martín scored his second goal of the season. The Cardinals continued to apply pressure early in the second half, with Nicholas Parham recording three shots and Giacomo Zizza putting a shot on target before Escudero Martín's goal.
Indiana responded in the 67th minute when Easton Bogard found the back of the net off an assist from Alex Barger, leveling the match at 1-1.
The Cardinals created opportunities to reclaim the lead late. Zizza recorded three shots overall and put one on frame, while Nicholas Parham finished with three shots. Louisville's defense limited Indiana to just six shots on the night.
Goalkeeper Nathaniel Abraham made one save in 90 minutes, while Indiana goalkeeper Michal Mroz also recorded one save.
The draw marked Louisville's first result against a ranked opponent in 2026 and kept the Cardinals unbeaten through the first four matches of the season.
Louisville closes out its homestand on Thursday, Sept. 3 against Wright State. The game will be broadcast on ACCNX with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
