Women's Soccer Opens ACC Play at Boston College on Sunday

Cardinals will face the Eagles on Sunday afternoon
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Coming off a 4-0 win over the Gardner Webb , the University of Louisville women's soccer team will open up ACC play at Boston College on Sunday afternoon.  The Cardinals bring a 6-2 overall record into the match.Â

Freshman Emina Ekic is leading the scoring effort for the Cardinals. Ekic has recorded four goals and one assist for nine points so far this season. Sophomore Allison Whitfield is second on the team with three goals and one assist for seven points.Â

In goal, redshirt freshman Gabby Kouzelos holds a 1.04 goals against average through seven matches. Kouzelos has registered 16 saves for the Cardinals along with four shutouts.Â

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 18th season with the Cardinals. She has led Louisville to four NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.

Boston College enters the match with a 6-3 overall record. The Eagles are coming off two straight wins against Boston University (3-0) and St. John's (1-0).

Senior midfielder Lauren Berman leads the team in scoring with five goals and two assists for 12 points. Freshman Sam Coffey is second on the team in scoring with two goals and six assists for 10 points. Alexis Bryant leads the team in goal with a 1.12 goals against average. She owns a 6-3 record and three shutouts on the season.
