
Hartlage Has Strong Start, Women’s Golf Tied for Seventh at ACC Championship

Lauren Hartlage shot a 2-under-par 70 in the first round of the tournament.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lauren Hartlage shot a 2-under-par 70 on Thursday, and the University of Louisville women's golf team is tied for seventh through one round at the ACC Championship in Pawleys Island, S.C.
The freshman, Hartlage is tied for sixth and was one of just 14 players in the field to shoot better than par at The Reserve Golf Club of Pawleys Island. She tallied three birdies on the day, including her first on par-5, 500-yard hole. She finished her first career round of postseason play with 14 pars, tied for fourth most in the tournament.
The Cardinals, collectively, shot a 10-over-par 298 and are tied with Boston College and Notre Dame. Louisville registered the best score on par-3 holes with a 2.85 average. Duke sits atop the leaderboard after carding a 4-under-par 284.
Olivia Cason, who is tied for 18th, shot a 1-over-par 73. The sophomore had an adventurous first round, tallying three birdies and two bogeys over a six-hole span. She finished the front nine at 1-under, but capped the day with two bogeys over her final three holes.
Jacqueline Twitty put together the third-best total on the team, shooting a 5-over-par 77. Molly Skapik rounded out the top-four scorers with a 6-over-par 78.
Louisville begins the second round on Friday with tee times starting at 8:50 a.m. ET.
