
Women’s Golf Moves into Eighth at ACC Championship

The Cardinals tee off in the final round on Saturday starting at 9:20 a.m. ET.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Olivia Cason shot a team-best 1-under-par 71 on Friday, but the University of Louisville women's golf team dropped to eighth place after two rounds of play at the ACC Championship in Pawleys Island, S.C.
Cason, a sophomore, is competing in her first conference tournament and currently is tied for seventh. She has shot an even-par 144 through 36 holes, four strokes off the leader, Florida State's Kim Metraux. Cason went 1-under-par on the front nine on Friday and erased a double bogey on No. 13 with two birdies over her final nine holes.
Louisville shot a 10-over-par 298 for the second-consecutive day, falling one stroke behind Notre Dame, with a two-day score of 20-over-par 596. Duke maintained hold of its lead and has a 6-under-par 570. The Cardinals tee off Saturday in the final round of play beginning at 9:20 a.m. ET.
Lauren Hartlage, after shooting a solid 2-under-par 70 on the opening day, fell to a tie for 16th. The freshman had to overcome a triple bogey on her first hole and a double bogey on No. 5. She settled down after the turn, tallying two birdies and seven pars on the back nine.
Molly Skapik climbed seven spots on the leaderboard and moved into a tie for 40th. The junior has logged a 9-over-par 153 entering the final day of competition. Skapik, who carded a 3-over-par 75 on Friday, went for par on seven-consecutive holes before hitting her only double bogey of the round on No. 15.
Jacqueline Twitty rounds out the top four scorers after shooting her second-straight 5-over-par 77. She is tied for 43rd, with a 10-over-par 154.
