Cason Tied for Fourth, Women’s Golf Finishes Seventh at ACC Championship

Olivia Cason tied for fourth after shooting a 1-under-par 215.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Olivia Cason shot a 1-under-par 71 in the final round of the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship on Saturday, tying for fourth, while helping the University of Louisville women's golf team to seventh-place finish in Pawleys Island, S.C.
A sophomore, Cason had the best moment of her freshman campaign during the postseason in a run to the NCAA Championships. Picking up the momentum at the right time of the year again, Cason finished the conference event with a 1-under-par 215 to tie Adrienne White (2007) for the third-best conference tournament performance in program history.
The Owensboro, Ky., native improved her season stroke average to 74.45, while securing her third top-five finish of the year.
Louisville put together its best team performance of the tournament, shooting a 6-over-par 294. The Cardinals capped their third appearance at the ACC Championship with a 26-over-par 890. Duke won the team title with a 5-under-par 859.
Lauren Hartlage helped the Cardinals climb a spot on the team leaderboard with her 1-over-par 73. She manufactured two birdies on the day, 39 over the course of three days, and tied for 14th with a 2-over-par 218.
Molly Skapik tied for 39th after shooting a 3-over-par 75 for the second-consecutive day. She concluded the tournament at 12-over-par 228.
Jacqueline Twitty rounded out the top four scorers after registering a 3-over-par 75 in the final round. She tied for 43rd, with a 13-over-par 229.
The Cardinals now await the announcement of the NCAA Regional Championships, which takes place April 27 on The Golf Channel. Play in the four regionals (Albuquerque, N.M., Athens, Ga., Columbus, Ohio, Lubbock, Texas) begins on May 8.
