
Swimming Puts Five Individuals and a Relay into Finals after Day 3 Prelims

200 Medley Relay team is seeded sixth going into tonight's final.
The Unversity of Louisville men's swimming team put five swimmers in the finals plus the 200 medley relay team after the preliminaries on Day 3 of the 2017 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI. Â

The Cards put Grigory Tarasevich in the A-final of the 100 back after he boarded a 45.13 to seed himself fifth tonight. Aaron Greene boarded a 46.96 to finish fifth in his heat in the 100 backstroke for a 32nd finish overall.

 Louisville 200 medley relay touched in 1:23.87  to finish second in the final heat and will be seeded sixth tonight in the A-final. Grigory Tarasevich led off with a backstroke leg of 21.31 followed by Carlos Claverie's 23.61 in the breaststroke. Next in was Josh Quallen, who boarded a 19.97 in the butterfly before Trevor Carroll brought it home in18.98 for the 1:23.87.

Freshman Etay Gurevich earned a second swim with a 3:42.60 to finish fourth in a fast heat of the 400 IM. He will be seeded 12th. Jarrett Jones posted a time of 3:50.32. Â

Josh Quallen goes 45.72 in his heat of the 100 fly and made the B-final in the 100 fly. He will be seeded 12th. Zach Harting put up a lifetime best time of  46.12 in heat 2 of the 100 fly but did not advance.

In the 200 free, Trevor Carroll was third in his heat with a 1:33.41 and will be seeded 11th tonight. Matthias Lindenbauer went 1:34.36 in the final heat of the 200 free to finish 26th.

Carlos Claverie clocked in at 52.30 in the 100 breaststroke in heat 5. He will return in the B Final and will be seeded 13th.
