
Women's Tennis Set to Host Southern Illinois

Cards face Salukis March 3 in Bass-Rudd Tennis Center
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team will host Southern Illinois University on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

The Cardinals face the Salukis for the fifth year in a row, having won all four of the previous meetings. Louisville won its first conference match on Saturday, handling Pittsburgh 6-1. Freshman, Tiffany Huber, continues her undefeated stretch, with winning both doubles and singles matches. Huber is boasting a 9-0 record on the season, along with fellow junior, Mariana Humberg who is 9-2. Louisville has two doubles teams who have dropped only one match each on the year. The doubles team of Humber and Abbie Pahz is 8-1 on the season, while the other of Jessie Paul and Ariana Rodriguez are 7-1.

Southern Illinois is 4-4 on the season, coming off a win at home against Lindsey Wilson. The Salukis are on a four-match win streak and boasts a very experienced roster. The team has no freshman, and three seniors, with junior, Xiwei Cai, leading the way with a record of 11-8. The Salukis are directed by Head Coach Audra Anderson who is in her 10th season in charge of women's tennis. Anderson holds the best win percentage as a coach in school history, with a record of 140-83. Under Anderson, the Salukis have won at least 16 matches in each of the last five years, placing in the top three in the Missouri Valley Conference in four of them
