
Lacrosse Faces First Ranked Opponent on Saturday at Denver

Cardinals to face No. 19 Denver on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The 18th-ranked University of Louisville lacrosse team returns to action when it travels to face 19th-ranked Denver on Saturday for a 5:00 p.m. start.

The Cardinals are coming of a packed weekend after thrilling 13-12 win over Marquette on Friday in Milwaukee and defeating Robert Morris 9-4 on Sunday at UofL Lacrosse Stadium. Meghan Siverson had a big weekend, scoring eight goals and tallying two assists on the weekend. McKayla Conti helped the Cardinals cause by recording five goals and two assists, while Hannah Koloski tallied five points on the weekend with four goals and an assist.

Overall, the Cardinals are led by the sophomore duo of Siverson and Conti. Siverson leads the team with 13 goals and two assists for 15 points.    Conti is second with 11 goals and two assists for 13 points. Seniors Hannah Koloski and Heidi Smith each have seven goals on the season.  Junior Brittany Read leads Louisville in goal. She has an 8.05 goals against average along with 25 saves in three games.Â

The Pioneers enter the matchup with a 3-0 record after defeating 12th-ranked Stanford 10-7 over the weekend. The Cardinals will be the first home game for Denver this season.

Kendra Lunuza leads the way for the Pioneers with nine goals and five assists. Julia Feiss and Elizabeth Behrins round out the top-3 scorers, both with eight goals and an assist. In goal, Maddy Stevenson has a 7.33 goals against average and has 30 saves on the year. The Pioneers average 13.33 goals per game.

Louisville leads the all-time series against Denver, 3-1. Louisville dropped the first-ever contest, but has won the last three, including last season's 14-3 victory at UofL Lacrosse Stadium.
