Lacrosse Defeats Robert Morris 9-4 on Sunday Aftenoon

Koloski, Smith and Siverson finish with three goals each to lead the Cardinals
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 18/19 Louisville lacrosse team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 9-4 win over Robert Morris on Sunday afternoon at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium. Hannah Koloski, Meghan Siverson and Heidi Smith each finished with three goals to lead the Cardinals.
Louisville got on the board first with a goal from Meghan Siverson at the 25:27 mark. Robert Morris tied the game with 22:22 left in the first half. The Cardinals responded with a 3-0 run to take 4-1 lead at the half. Siverson scored again in the 21st minute. It wasn't until the 6:46 mark that Smith scored off a pass from Elise Koehl. Koloski closed out the run by converting a free position shot with 24 seconds remaining in the half.
Robert Morris started off the second half with a goal in the 22nd minute. The Cardinals then went on a 3-0 run to take a 7-2 lead. All three Louisville goals were off free position shots. Siverson scored at the 19:17 mark while Smith scored at the 16:32 mark and the 14:04 mark.
Robert Morris responded with a goal on the next possession to cut the lead to 7-3. Koloski gave Louisville an 8-3 lead, scoring on a free position shot at the 10:39 mark. Robert Morris scored again at the 7:13 mark but Koloski scored the final goal of the game at the 3:20 mark off a free position shot to give Louisville the 9-4 win.
Louisville edged Robert Morris 9-8 at the draw. The Cardinals finished with a 31-17 shot advantage and at 25-17 ground ball advantage. Brittany Read finished with eight saves while Robert Morris' Katelyn Miller finished with 11 saves.
Stephanie McNamara led the Cardinals with four caused turnovers while Taylor Webster finished with three. Read had six ground balls while Siverson picked up three. Heidi Smith finished with three draw controls to lead Louisville.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 18 as they travel to Denver.
