Tarasevich is Ninth in 100-Back at Olympics

The University of Louisville had two swimmers compete on the second day of competition at the 2016 Olympic Games.

Cardinal swimmer Grigory Tarasevich posted a 53.46 in the semifinals of the 100-backstroke for ninth place at the 2016 Olympic Games. Two Americans Ryan Murphy (52.49) and David Plummer (52.50) took the top two spots for tomorrow night's finals.

Joao De Lucca anchored the 4 x 100 Free Relay for Brazil. The home team finished fifth with a 3:13.21. The event was won by the American team of Caeleb Dressel, Michael Phelps, Ryan Held and Nathan Adrian who combined for a 3:09.92.
