Tarasevich is Ninth in 100-Back at Olympics

De Lucca Anchors the 4 x 100 Free Relay for Brazil
The University of Louisville had two swimmers compete on the second day of competition at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Cardinal swimmer Grigory Tarasevich posted a 53.46 in the semifinals of the 100-backstroke for ninth place at the 2016 Olympic Games. Two Americans  Ryan Murphy (52.49) and David Plummer (52.50) took the top two spots for tomorrow night's finals. Â

Joao De Lucca anchored the 4 x 100 Free Relay for Brazil. The home team finished fifth with a 3:13.21. The event was won by the American team of Caeleb Dressel, Michael Phelps, Ryan Held and Nathan Adrian who combined for a 3:09.92. Â
