Fanz Named to Team USA Roster for Pan Pac Championship

She will swim the 50-meter freestyle for the USA.
Incoming freshman swimmer Casey Fanz was named to the USA Roster as part of 40 of the United States' top up-and-coming swimmers who will represent Team USA at the 2016 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, set for Aug. 24-27 in Maui, Hawaii at the Kihei Aquatic Center.Â
The U.S. roster is decided based on the results of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and the event will feature the top junior swimmers from the U.S., Canada, Australia and Japan.

 The head coaches for the team will be Chris Plumb of Carmel Swim Club on the men's side and John Morse of Nashville Aquatic Club for the women. A complete roster can be found at usaswimming.org.Â
Fanz comes Louisville from ACC country in Powhatan, Va., where she now attends Powhatan High School and swims for the Poseidon Swimming. She was an Olympic Trials Qualifier in the 50 & 100 Free where she finished tied for 21st in the 50-meter freestyle.
She was a member of the NCSA All-American Team that traveled and competed in Ireland after winning the 50 free at the 2014 NCSA Nationals. Fanz is the captain of the Poseidon Senior Women's team and holds 17 club records. She is the 4-time defending state champion in the 50 free having won consecutive state titles and has been named twice to the First Team All-Metro Richmond Times Dispatch. Academically, Fanz is a 2-time Scholastic All-American, a member of NEHS, on the Honor Roll and participates as a Student Ambassador at PHS. She is also the president of the FCA group at PHS and was a keynote speaker at the 2015 VHSL Leadership Conference.
