Four Cardinals Named to All-ACC Academic Men’s Soccer Team

Brody, Johnson, Kubel and Schmitt represent Louisville on All-ACC Academic Team
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville juniors Andrew Brody and Daniel Johnson, sophomore Tim Kubel and freshman Tate Schmitt were named to the 2015 All-ACC Academic Men's Soccer Team as announced Tuesday by Commissioner John Swofford.
Brody, a native of Orlando, Fla., who signed with Real Monarchs SLC of the United Soccer League after the completion of the 2015 season, is majoring in communication at UofL A native of Duluth Ga., Johnson is majoring in sport administration, while Kubel, originally from Stuttgart, Germany, and Schmitt, from Phoenix, Ariz., are majoring in economics.
On the pitch, Brody scored three goals and added three assists while starting all 19 matches last season. Johnson earned All-ACC Third Team recognition after scoring five goals and starting all 19 matches in the midfield in his first season with the Cardinals in 2015. Kubel was tabbed as an All-ACC First Team defender last season as he scored five goals and added three assists in 19 starts. Schmitt was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team in 2015 after scoring a team-high seven goals and adding four assists.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team. The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
