
Lacrosse Hosts Boston College in ACC Opener

Cardinals will kick off ACC play against the Eagles on Saturday afternoon
LOUISVILLE, KY. – The University of Louisville women's lacrosse team will kickoff ACC play this weekend when they host No. 14/15 Boston College Saturday at 12pm at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium. The game will be one of the two games this season that will be broadcast on ESPN3.

The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 4-0 after winning on the road at Vanderbilt 15-5 this past Tuesday. Junior Hannah Koloski led the Cardinals with a career-high six goals while Kaylin Morissette and Cortnee Daley chipped in four goals apiece.
Morissette continues to lead the Cardinals in scoring with 15 points, scoring 11 goals and four assists. She was named to the 2016 Tewaaraton Award watch list this past week which highlights the top players across all three divisions of NCAA Lacrosse. Hannah Koloski leads the team in goals with 12 while Kelli Gerding paces the team in assists with eight. Sophomore Brittany Read has started all four games in goal, recording a 4.75 goals against average with 32 saves on the year.
Boston College enters the game with an overall record of 2-1 with wins over Boston University and Holy Cross to begin the season. The Eagles lone loss came in their ACC opener to Notre Dame this past Sunday when they fell 14-4.
Senior Caroline Margolis leads the Eagles with nine points from six goals and three assists. Freshman Sam Apuzzo is first on the team in goals with seven while Margolis and Sarah Mannelly lead the team with three assists each. Zoe Ochoa has started all three games for the Eagles and has posted a 9.03 goals against average with 14 saves.

Boston College won the first game in series history last year when they topped the Cardinals 16-15 in overtime in Newton, Mass. The Cardinals were led by Morissette and Koloski with four goals and two assists apiece but Covie Stanwick scored the game-winning goal for the Eagles with six seconds left in overtime.
