
Lacrosse Hosts Denver on Saturday Afternoon

Cardinals return home to host Denver on Saturday
LOUISVILLE, KY. – The University of Louisville women's lacrosse team will host Denver on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 1:00 p.m. at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium.

The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 2-0 with wins over Marquette and Temple. Â Last week Louisville defeated Temple 8-5 in the first road game of the season. Four players scored for the Cardinals, led by senior Kaylin Morissette with three goals and an assist.

Morissette leads the team in scoring with seven points, scoring four goals and three assists. Cortnee Daley leads the team with five goals while Kelli Gerding leads the team with four assists. Sophomore Brittany Read has played 120 minutes in goal for the Cardinals, recording a 5.50 goals against average along with 16 saves.
Denver enters the game with an overall record of 1-1 with a win over Fresno State and a loss against Colorado. Most recently they defeated Fresno State 15-3 while Rachael McKinnon tallied a career-high four goals while Christa Reese added in three goals.
McKinnon and Kendra Lanuza leads the team with eight points. McKinnon has scored eight goals while Lanuza has scored three goals and added five assists. Maddy Stevenson starts in goals for Denver and owns a 7.28 goals against average along with nine saves.Â
Louisville leads the series 2-1 against the Pioneers. The Cardinals are 1-0 against Denver at home with a 12-7 win against the Pioneers in 2014. Last season in Denver the Cardinals defeated the Pioneers 14-9.Â
