
Swimming Competes at Charlotte Arena Pro Series

The University of Louisville Cardinal swimming and diving team made a strong showing in the first full day of competition at the Charlotte Arena Pro Series Meet at Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center in downtown Charlotte.
In the 200M freestyle, Andrea Kneppers qualified 11th with a time of 2:01.32.
Andrea Cottrell had the 10th fastest time in the field with a 1:10.31 in the 100M breaststroke.
Freshman Carlos Claverie put up the fourth fastest qualifying time with a 1:02.26 in the 100M breaststroke to make the A-final.
Mackenzie Buss hung on in the 50M backstroke to sneak in the B-final with a 29.69 for 14th place.
Kelsi Worrell boarded a 59.43 in the 100M butterfly, just .12 behind the leader Olympican Claire Donahue, the former Western Kentucky star. Teammate Tanja Kylliainen was 13th with a 1:01.26 in the same event and will be back tonight.
Kylliainen will also return in the 400M IM with a ninth place qualifying time of 4:50.48.
