
Women’s Golf Concludes Fall at Palmetto Intercollegiate

The Cardinals begin the three-day event on Sunday in Kiawah Island, S.C.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team wraps up its fall campaign this week, when it plays at the Palmetto Intercollegiate at the Turtle Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.
Louisville begins competition against the 20-team field on Sunday, playing 18 holes each of the three days on the par-72, 5,972-yard course. Along with the host College of Charleston, the Cardinals face a group of teams that includes Boston University, Coastal Carolina, Illinois, Kansas, and South Florida.
Louisville will feature a lineup of Laura Restrepo, Katie Mitchell, Olivia Cason, Lexie Long, and Shannon Gramley, and live results are available on Golfstat.com. Tee time on Sunday and Monday is set for 9 a.m., and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Louisville, ranked No. 23 according to Golfstat.com, is returning to action following its first victory of the season at the Cardinal Cup on Tuesday. The Cardinals posted a nine-stroke win over No. 33 Florida State in addition to placing ahead of three other top-50 programs for their fourth-consecutive Cardinal Cup title.
Restrepo, the team's top finisher, shot an even-par 216 to take fifth. She compiled a 2-under-par 70 in the opening round and then fired consecutive rounds of 1-over-par 73. She concluded the two-day event with 38 pars and eight birdies.
Long, a freshman, had an even more impressive tournament, tying for third with a 1-under-par 215. She carded a 2-under-par 70 in the first round and wrapped up the event with a 1-under-par 71, marking her second and third rounds even or under par at the collegiate level.
Cason, a classmate, also has been solid this season for the Cardinals. She ranks third in stroke average (74.82), is tied for a team-best four rounds even or below par, and owns two top-10 finishes.
Mitchell, following pace from last year, boasts a team-best 73.00-stroke average. Through 11 rounds of competition, the senior is one of two Cardinals with individual wins (Fall Kickoff) and boasts three rounds even or below par.
Gramley, who rounds out the Cardinals' lineup, was the No. 4 scorer for the winning team at the Cardinal Cup. She tied for 21st after shooting a 9-over-par 225. The junior, who is averaging a 75.88-stroke average, shot a 1-over-par 73 in the opening round and a 3-over-par 75 to close the competition.
