
Volleyball Moves to No. 17 in AVCA Poll

Coming off of a 1-1 split in the Penn State Invitational, University of Louisville volleyball team moved up to No. 17 in the AVCA Coaches Poll.
The Cards will head next to the Fargo Doublewood Inn Classic in Fargo, N.D., hosted by North Dakota State University this weekend. The Cards will take on NDSU in its first match of the Invitational on Friday evening at 8pm. Two matches await the team on Saturday, the first against Northern Iowa in the morning at 11:30am and versus Wisconsin at 5:30pm
Last weekend in State College, Pa., the Cards defeated Syracuse in straight sets (25-20, 25-19, 25-17) and fell to host and No. 2 ranked, Penn State (25-15, 25-16, 25-13). After winning the season opener, head coach Anne Kordes is now 3-0 in the first game of the season. Maya McClendon and Emily Juhl each had 11 kills to lead the team past Syracuse. U of L took a tough loss against a loaded Penn State team falling 3-0. Juhl and Brooke Mattingly were both named to the All-Tournament team.
