Bio
2014: After a successful freshman campaign, Maya added to her collegiate accolades in her sophomore season. Maya started in all 30 matched and led the team with 357 kills (3.13/set). She was second on the team with 11 double-doubles and third with 296 digs (2.60/set). She also tallied 54 blocks and was fourth on the team in that category. She had a career high 21 kills vs. Appalachian State. She had 22 matches in which she recorded double-digit kills. She had a season high 19 digs versus Georgia Tech and tallied five blocks against Rice. Maya was named to the All-Rice Invitational team and All-Tournament at the Morehead Invitational.

2013: Maya was named the unanimous choice for both American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year as well as First Team All-AAC Selection. She earned Freshman of the Week Honors on 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/28, 11/11, 11/18/13, the most for a rookie in AAC history. She had 12 double-doubles to lead the Cards and led the team in kills with 335. She was second on team in digs with 341, playing all the way around and was fifth in blocks with 31. She had season and career high 18 kills versus UCF and three aces at Memphis. She had four blocks on fouroccasions .

Prep: Â Maya McClendon comes to UofL as a local talent who played for head coach Chris Gould at DuPont Manual High School. She played her club volleyball for Coach Lesley Prather of the Asics KIVA (Kentucky/Indiana Volleyball Academy) team. Â She took her KIVA team to the national championship game and won the silver medal. At duPont Manual, Maya was a member of the KHSAA District Champion teams from 2009-2011, she was named 1st Team All-State, 1st Team Academic All-State and a Maxpreps Player of the Week. A PrepVolleyball.com Top 50 recruit, she was No. 80 on the PrepVolleyball.com Senior Aces. As a senior, she was named 1st Team All-State for the second straight year. Â She was named to the 2012 First Team Under Armour All-American team. In 2009, she was selected as a member of USA Volleyball's High Performance Select A1 Team. In 2010, Maya was a USA Volleyball Youth National A2 Team member, USA Volleyball Holiday Camp Invitee, and she participated for USA Volleyball in the High Performance Championships, finishing in 3rd place for Bronze. Maya competed for USA Volleyball in 2011 during the High Performance Championships and for the USA Volleyball Youth National A2 Team. In 2012, she competed in the NORCECA Intercontinental Volleyball Championships in Nicaragua where the team finished in third place for Bronze. She also participated for USA Volleyball's Junior National Team and High Performance Championships, in which the team won 1st place and Gold in the Women's International Junior Division. She was a six-time AAU All-American. Maya qualified to compete for the USA in the 2013 FIVB World Championships in the Czech Republic.

Personal: Daughter of Roger and Suzanne McClendon. Born December 14, 1994. Major is undecided. She is the younger sister of former Penn State All-American Deja McClendon. Her father was a standout basketball player at the University of Cincinnati.
