
Volleyball's Recruiting Class Earns National Ranking

The University of Louisville volleyball recruiting class of Brooke Betts (6-1, MB/RS, Bishop Hartley/Pickerington, Ohio); Sydney Cooper (6-1 MB/OH, Woodward Academy /Atlanta, Ga.); Javoni Faucette (6-1 OH, Francis Howell/St. Louis, Mo.); Maya McClendon 5-10, OH, duPont Manual (Louisville, Ky.) has been ranked No. 22 by PrepVolleyball.com.
McClendon headlines the group with her dynamic play and personality, and she is a local favorite from Louisville. Maya was named #80 on PrepVolleyball.com Senior Aces list. This came shortly after her numerous USA Volleyball experiences were highlighted by playing for the US Junior National Team in Nicaragua where she earned a bronze medal. Her honors don't stop there as she was named a First Team All-State Selection, a Maxprep Player of the Week, a PrepVolleyball.com Top 50 recruit, and was selected to play in the AVCA Under Armour All American Game.
Betts, who PrepVolleyball.com tabbed as a Top 100 Senior Ace, brings in championship experience with two bronze medals from USAV Junior National events where she was twice named an All-American. She has been named a two-time First Team All-State selection to go along with her Ohio Division II State Championship in 2011, where she was named Player of the Game.
Faucette brings an solid all-around game to UofL. She has numerous conference, region, and all state awards from her high school playing career. She was also named to the Under Armour High School All American Watch List.
Cooper rounds out the group with her athleticism and versatility. She was a two-time state champion in Georgia, and her many high school awards were highlighted with a First Team All-State selection.
