
Three Divers Qualify for BIG EAST Final

The University of Louisville diving team kicked off the first prelims session of the 2012 BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Championships this morning at the University of Pittsburgh at Trees Pool.
The women competed on the 1-meter springboard, while the men competed on the 3-meter springboard. Three of the Cardinals will compete in tonight's finals. For the women, Hannah Gadd placed second and Lindsey Stephens placed fifth qualifying them for finals with scores of 293.00 and 257.60 respectively. Emily Stalmack place 18th with a score of 215.10. For the men, Nikolas Sachs held onto eighth place with a score of 265.00 to fill the last spot of the men's final. Korey Schrock qualified for the consols with a 15th place finish and a score of 226.95. Freshman Matt Ryan just missed out on making the consols with a score of 219.90 which placed him 17th.
Finals will begin at 6 p.m. with the Women's 1-meter springboard, followed by the Men's 3-meter springboard at 7 p.m.
