Volleyball Beats Alumnae 3-1

Freshman Lola Arslanbekova had 13 kills with Anastasia Artemeva adding seven kills as the 2009 Volleyball Cardinals beat a team made up of Alumnae in a pre-season scrimmage Saturday afternoon at Cardinal Arena.
The Cardinals beat their alumnae 25-19, 22-25, 25-13, 25-11. The Alumnae were led by Kelly McClain Garvey, who had 12 kills. Beth Kuhnell had eight kills.
Gwen Rucker and Justine Landi each added seven kills.
"It is just good to end your pre-season with outside competition," said U of L head coach Leonid Yelin. "I tried to get everybody some playing time and try some different things.
Kristie Wetterer, Stephanie Marsh, Jennifer Hoffman, Beth Kuhnell, Kelly McClain Garvey, Rui Liu and Kara Hamilton represented the all-stars.
