2004--Kara hit .250 as a freshman with 31 kills on 84 attacks. She had 21 digs and 13 blocks. Her best outing was against UAB where she had 10 kills on 23 attacks to hit .348. Her best blocking match came against Saint Louis when she had a career high four blocks against the Billikens. She had five digs against both USF and UAB.
2003--Kara sat out 2003 as a medical redshirt.
High School-- As a senior, Kara was the 2002 KHSAA Region 6 Most Valuable Player. She led Lexington's Lafayette to its first-ever district and region championships and a first round win in the 2002 State Tournament. She swept the school record for most blocks, aces, kills and was the Team MVP. She was a two-time all-district and all-region first teamer and was named to the All-State squad. In addition, she made the BIV and Woodford All-Tournament teams. As a junior, she helped Lafayette to a second place in districts and was an honorable mention All-State performer as well as Team MVP. She also played basketball and softball for the Generals. In hoops, she lettered six years and was on the Queen of the Bluegrass All-Tournament team and was a two-time McDonald's and Kentucky/Indiana All-Star selection. She played club ball for CKTVC and BAVA. An outstanding student, she was a three-time all-state academic performer and graduated with a perfect 4.0 average. She was a National Honor Society Member and Beta Club member.
Personal-- Kara is the daughter of Ruthanna and Douglas Hamilton. She was born October 1, 1985. Major is education/physical performance.
