LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville junior second baseman Adam Duvall was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday after the Louisville native led the Cardinals to an impressive 4-1 record last week.
Duvall hit .583 (14-for-24) with seven RBI, four home runs, four doubles, 15 runs scored and a 1.125 slugging percentage in five games. The Butler High School graduate is the third Louisville player to earn the BIG EAST Player of the Week honor this season as junior third baseman Chris Dominguez gained the award on March 9, while junior first baseman Andrew Clark earned the honor on March 2.
Duvall had at least one hit in each of Louisville's five games and was an impressive 5-for-6 with two home runs, two doubles, four RBI and five runs scored in Louisville's 21-5 win over Ohio State on Tuesday.
Up next, Louisville will travel to Bowling Green, Ky., to face Western Kentucky on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET, in the second and final game of the season with the Hilltoppers. The Cards earned a 7-6 over WKU on March 25 in Louisville.
Following the mid-week game at WKU, the Cardinals will host a three-game series with South Florida to determine the BIG EAST Conference regular-season champion. The series with the Bulls is set to begin on Thursday at 6 p.m., followed by Friday's second game at 6 p.m., and Saturday's finale at 1 p.m. Admission is free for all three games with USF.
