
Cardinals' Marks Named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville junior lefty Justin Marks was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week yesterday for his impressive performance last Saturday against Iowa.
The preseason All-American earned his second straight win and improved to 2-1 on the season as he matched a career-high with strikeouts and seven scoreless innings in the Cards' 7-2 win over the Hawkeyes. He allowed only four hits in the game and has a scoreless streak of 11.1 innings.
This season, Marks has an ERA of 2.74 with 29 strikeouts in 23.0 innings and has a 2-1 record in his four starts. Overall, Marks is 20-5 in his collegiate career with an ERA of 2.55 with 205 strikeouts in 218.1 innings.
Up next, the 27th-ranked Cardinals (11-5) will continue their nine-game homestand against Morehead State on Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET at Jim Patterson Stadium. Louisville will open BIG EAST action on Friday at 3 p.m., with the first of three straight against the Georgetown Hoyas.
