Bergstrom Earns BIG EAST Swimmer of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Louisville sophomore Therese Bergstrom helped her squad beat Cincinnati 187-92 on Jan. 9 with two individual wins in a meet between BIG EAST rivals. For her efforts, Bergstrom earns the women's BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honor. It is the second time she has earned this recognition this season.
Bergstrom's first-place finishes came in the 100- and 200-breasts. The sophomore got through the 100-breast in 1:04.10 before turning in a 1:45.41 swim in the 200-yard race. Apart from the strong individual showings, Bergstrom also swam the third leg of the 200-free relay, helping the Cardinals take second place in 1:37.41.
