HUNTINGSBURG, Ind. - The University of Louisville's Phil Wunderlich lead the Central Illinois Collegiate League to a 7-6 win over the Kentucky-Illinois-Tennessee League, going 3 for 3 at the plate with a double, home run and three RBI in the KIT-CICL All-Star Game at League Stadium Monday.
The Cardinal sophomore, who batted third and started at first base for the CICL, singled in the first and smacked a one out double in the third, eventually scoring.
After a teammate drew a leadoff walk, Wunderlich drilled a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth, tying the game at six.
With one away in the sixth, he plated the winning run on a sacrifice fly.
Wunderlich, who plays for DuPage County in the CICL, started 35 games for the BIG EAST Champion Cardinals in 2008 and saw action in 52, batting .265 with 10 doubles, a home run and 20 RBI in his freshman season.
