
Men's Soccer Falls to Georgetown 1-0

Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Georgetown on Sunday afternoon in Cardinal Park. The Cardinals fall to 4-3-0 on the season and 1-1-0 in league play while Georgetown improves to 2-5-0 on the season and 1-2-0 in league play.
The Cards best opportunity to score in was in the fourth minute when Georgetown was called for a handball. Junior Aaron Clapham took the penalty kick but it went just wide. The Hoyas scored in the 25th minute when Scott Larrabee got the ball in front of the goal for a strike.
Louisville finished the half with a 10-6 shot advantage but could not convert on two chances. Georgetown led the 1-0 at the half.
The Cardinals went on attack early trying for the equalizer. The Cards had an opportunity in the 56th minute when Ryan McDonald headed the ball into the goal but it hit the post and bounced out.
The Cardinals finished the game with a 17-10 shot advantage. Cardinal keeper David Simolike finished with five saves while the Hoyas' Matt Brutto finished with seven saves.
The Cardinals will be back on Friday, Sept. 27 as they travel to Milwaukee to face Marquette at 8:00 p.m.
