
Women's Golf Wins Papa John's Collegiate

Coral Gables, Fla. - The University of Louisville women's golf team shot a 303 in the final round of the Papa John's Collegiate to win the title with a score of 924. San Jose State finished second with a score of 926 and South Florida and East Carolina finished tied for third with a score of 932.
Louisville sophomore Cindy LaCrosse took titlest honors after shooting a 72 in the final round to finish with a score of 226. LaCrosse pushed her drive in the trees on the 18th hole. She had to had to punch out of the trees and made par for the win. Erica Moston finished second with a score of 227.
"I didn't pay attention to what the other players were doing today," said LaCrosse. "I had to make up four strokes from the second round and just tried to stay within myself. It is very exciting to win my first collegiate tournament in my home state."
Senior Adrienne White and sophomore Amanda Henry finished tied at 11th with a score of 233. White shot a 76 in the final round while Henry shot a 78. Freshman Camille Williams finished tied at 31st with a score of 239. Junior Jenny Calkins finished tied at 36th with a score of 240.
Freshman Chrissy Pachuta, competed as an individual, finished tied at 38th. Also competing as an individual, Cristina Gonzalez finished 56th with a score of 250.
