
Cardinal Nine Releases 2005 Slate

LOUISVILLE, KY - The University of Louisville baseball team has released its 2005 schedule.
The 55-game slate features seven teams that reached the 2004 NCAA Regionals, including Baseball America's preseason #1 Tulane and 2004 College World Series participant Georgia.
The schedule will also mark the opening of newly built Jim Patterson Stadium. The Cards will open the season in Cardinal Stadium before moving to the new facility on Central Avenue on a date to be determined.
The Cards will play its first 16 games in the Derby City, beginning on February 18th at 2:00 p.m. against NCAA Regional qualifier Kent State for the first of three games against the Flashes, before a midweek game at Evansville on March 16th puts U of L on the road for the first time. The homestand will include a three-game series against 10th-ranked Georgia beginning March 11th.
The Conference USA season will open in Cincinnati on March 18th for a three-game weekend set at the rival Bearcats.
The top-ranked Green Wave will visit the Derby City the following weekend to begin the home portion of the C-USA schedule.
The top eight teams in the conference will meet in Hattiesburg, Mississippi May 25th-29th for the C-USA Tournament.
