LOUISVILLE, KY - The baseball game between the University of Louisville Cardinals and the University of Kentucky Wildcats was cancelled Wednesday night due to harsh weather conditions after two plus innings of play at Slugger Field.
At the time, the Cardinal were up 4-0, but torrential rains and lightning halted play at 7:36 p.m. The tarps were pulled onto the field, and the game was officially called at 8:25 p.m.
It has not been determined whether or not the game will be made up between the Cards and the Cats.
Louisville(26-10, 13-5) is ranked 29th in the nation and tied for first in Conference USA. It will carry a seven-game win streak into a three-game weekend series at Cardinal Stadium against TCU(20-22, 11-7). The first game is Friday at 6:00 p.m, and the teams will play Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
