A three-year starting forward for the Cardinals, Jerry King is a member of the UofL scoring 1,000 point club with 1,189 points. He helped the Cardinals to a combined 65-18 record, two NCAA Tournament appearances and an NIT berth. He co-captained the 1968-69 squad with Butch Beard and was selected the team’s most popular player that season in a fan voting. Following his playing career at Louisville, King was selected in the fifth round of the NBA Draft with the 60th overall pick by the Seattle Supersonics.
Since his graduation from UofL’s School of Business in 1970, King has worked in various areas of sales and marketing in Louisville. His father, Bob King (basketball ’38-41, baseball ’38-41), was also inducted into the UofL Athletic Hall of Fame in 1992.
