Men's Golf Finishes 16th at Visit Knoxville Collegiate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Louisville men's golf team closed out its season-opening tournament with a 16th-place finish Tuesday at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate at Fox Den Country Club.
The Cardinals carded a 284 in the final round to finish with a 54-hole total of 854, placing in a tie for 16th overall.
Warren Thomis led the Cardinals throughout the tournament, finishing tied for seventh individually at 4-under par with a three-round total of 206. Thomis closed with a 1-under-par 69 on Tuesday after opening the tournament with rounds of 69 and 68.
Barron Mundy also posted a 1-under-par 69 in the final round, finishing tied for 52nd at 6-over par. Mundy improved throughout the tournament after opening with a 76 before shooting a 69 in both the second and third rounds.
Sean Keeling finished tied for 71st at 7-over par after recording a 3-over-par 73 in the final round. Tyler Bruneau carded a 73 to finish 86th, while Brady Smith posted a 77 and finished tied for 91st.
Tennessee captured the team title with a 14-under-par 266 in the final round, finishing ahead of Memphis and Chattanooga.
Louisville will travel to the Bearcat Invitational next, taking place at Coldstream Country Club on Sept. 14-15.
