
Cards Finish Sixth at Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The University of Louisville men's golf team finished sixth at the Bearcat Invitational, closing the two-day tournament with a 54-hole total of 850 (-2) Tuesday at Coldstream Country Club.
The Cardinals opened the tournament with rounds of 280 (-4) and 282 (-2) on Monday before carding a 288 (+4) in Tuesday's final round. Liberty captured the team title at 15-under par, while TCU finished second at 12-under.
Barron Mundy led the Cardinals individually, finishing in a tie for sixth at 5-under par after opening with rounds of 67 and 69 and closing with a round of 72. His opening-round 67 was Louisville's lowest round of the tournament. Warren Thomis also positioned himself inside the top 10, finishing tied for eighth at 4-under par after rounds of 68, 70, and 71.
Brady Smith finished the tournament at 1-over par, while Will Judd and Adam Buchanan rounded out Louisville's lineup at 7-over par and 9-over par, respectively. The Cardinals' 850 total marked a four-stroke improvement from their season-opening total at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate.
Louisville returns to action Sept. 28-29 at the Bryan Bros. Collegiate, hosted by South Carolina at Solina Golf Club.
