Cards Head to Bearcat Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville men's golf team returns to action September 14-15 at the Bearcat Invitational, hosted by Cincinnati at Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Cardinals will compete in a 17-team field that includes Arkansas-Little Rock, Augusta, Cincinnati, Furman, Iowa State, Kentucky, Liberty, Maryland, Memphis, Minnesota, Nebraska, Sam Houston, Tennessee-Chattanooga, TCU, UCF and Xavier.
The Bearcat Invitational begins Monday with 36 holes, with a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start. The tournament concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes, also beginning with a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start.
The Cardinals are coming off a 16th-place finish at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate to open the 2026-27 season. Warren Thomis led the Cards with a seventh-place finish, carding a 4-under-par 206. Brady Smith, Thomis and Barron Mundy are all back in the lineup for the Bearcat Invitational.
Louisville returns to a tournament it won in 2024-25, when the Cardinals posted an 846 (-6) to finish six strokes ahead of the field.
THE TOURNAMENT
The Bearcat Invitational, which began in 2011, is being contested for the 12th time in 2026. Cincinnati has won the tournament three times, including last season when the Bearcats claimed the team title by 11 strokes. Three Cincinnati golfers finished inside the top 10 in last year's tournament.
THE COURSE
The tournament will be played at Coldstream Country Club, a par-71, 7,279-yard layout in Cincinnati. Opened in 1959, the course underwent a renovation in 2021 and features expansive fairways, striking bunker complexes and refined sightlines that emphasize both the natural beauty of the property and the strategic design of each hole.
