2007: Kristie served as the captain of the Cardinals and her natural leadership skills make her the glue for the Cardinals on and off the court. In the BIG EAST Tournament, she had five digs against both Syracuse and NDU. She has worked hard on her serving and it shows as she had a career-high four aces against Rutgers and three against South Florida. As defensive specialist, she had a season-high 15 digs against Villanova and 14 against Tennessee Tech. She spent two weeks working for Habitat for Humanity in Mississippi rebuilding homes for Katrina victims last year. She studied this past summer in Italy with the KIIS program at U of L.
2006: Kristie had 302 digs in 2006 and recorded 12 service aces as libero for the Cardinals. She had a season-high 23 digs against Dayton and had double-digit digs in 15 matches with 22 at Connecticut. She notched three aces against Seton Hall and two against Rutgers. She serves as one of volleyball's representatives on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
2005: Kristie had 161 digs in 2005 with 12 service aces. She had five digs against WKU in the NCAA first round and eight against Maryland in the second round. She had a season-high five aces against Rutgers. She recorded season-high 11 digs versus Cincinnati and 10 against both Rutgers and South Florida. She was pressed into service as a setter against Georgetown and had 19 assists.
High School: Kristie played four years at Sacred Heart Academy and was a starter on the SHA State Championship team in 2003. She was named Second Team All-State. She was an AAU All-American for 16's. She also played MAVA Club ball for Paul Bowling.
Personal: Daughter of Jim and Rose Wetterer. Born Dec. 18, 1986. Major is marketing. Her twin, Katie, plays volleyball at Bellarmine University. She is the first second generation player for U of L volleyball. Her mother, Rose, lettered here as did her aunts, Barbara Shearn and Susan Inman.
