Junior: Andrews was a member of the 400-medley relay team that advanced to the NCAA finals, swimming the backstroke leg in 47.10. He finished 12th in the nation in the 100-back with time of 47.07. He sawme the backstroke leg of the 200-medley relay at NCAAs with a split of 21.71 for the team that finished 13th. In the 400-free relay finished 14th and his split ws 1:38.06. During the BIG EAST Championships, he competed in the 400- and 800-free relays, the 200- and 400-medley relays, the 50- and 100-free, and the 100-back. He swam the first leg for the 400- and 800-free relay teams and had the fastest split in each event (43.17 and 1:35.76), leading both squads to first place finishes and national B-cuts with final times of 2:54.04 and 6:23.23. He also swam the backstroke leg of the 200- and 400-medley relay teams, earning the fastest splits in the field once again (22.10 and 47.26). Both teams finished in first place and made the national B-cut, recording times of 1:19.69 and 2:54.04. Andrews also finished first in both the 50- and 100-free and made the national B-cut with marks of 19.83 and 43.45, which was a school record. He added another first-place finish in the 100-back with a time of 46.94. Andrews was a seven-time All-BIG EAST performer.
Sophomore: Brendon Andrews was a prodigious point scorer for the Cardinals last year. He was named All-BIG EAST in six events. In his is first event, the 800 freestyle relay, he posted a split time of 1:36.77 with a total time of 6:29.99 and a second place finish. He came in third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.13. In the 200-freestyle relay he swam a split of 20.19 and helpd the team to a time of 1:20.12 for first place. He also finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:36.15. In the 100-free, he swam a time of 43.80 and finished in fourth place. His team came in first in the 400-freestyle relay. He posted a time of 44.13 and the team finished in 2:56.87. All of Brendon's times made the national B cut.
Freshman: As a freshman, Brendon immediately made an impact on Cardinal swimming. At the NCAAs, he swam the 50-free (20.34) and the 200-free (1:37.34) in the individual events for the Cardinals. As leadoff swimmer in the 200-free relay, he helped the Cards finish 17th in the nation. He anchored the NCAA 400-medley relay team that posted a time of 3:12.37 for 17th place. Andrews swam at the World Trials with a 23.27 in the 50-meter freestyle to place 32nd in the country. He was also a part of the 4x100-meter relay where he leadoff and helped U of L to a swim of 3:44.63. He was named All-BIG EAST. He tied for third in the BIG EAST A-final in the 50-free (19.90) and was second in the A-Final in the 200-free (1:35.87) as well as being third in the A-final of the 100- free (43.54). He was an integral member of the Cardinal relay corps. He swam leadoff (19.86) on the championship 200-free relay team that posted a school record 1:17.89 time. He helped set the school record in the 400-free relay as leadoff (43.80) for the team that posted a 2:54.40 as runnerup. On the school record 800-free relay, again he led off (1:37.21 as the team finished as runnerup in 6:30.69.
Prep: Brendon came from Florida where he swam for his father, Gordon Andrews at John Leonard High School and for Lake Lytle Lightning. He was a two-time Palm Beach County Swimmer of the Year and a seven-time All-American. He participated in the Junior Olympics. He was a two-time Florida State Champion in the 100-back. He was in the Top 5% Honor Roll, had perfect attendance and was a member of the Honor Society.
Personal: He is the son of Melanie and Gordon Andrews. He was born April 2, 1990. He is the younger brother of Cardinal swimmer Sarah Andrews. He plans on majoring in physical education.
