2008: Saw his season end with a stress fracture in his heel after the win over Ball State(5/13). Had two hits in win over Butler (5/7). Went 2 for 3 in series-opening win at GU (5/2). His two-run home run, his first as a Cardinal, were the only runs the Cards would need in a win over MSU(4/29). Was 3 for 7 with a pair of doubles and three RBI in pair of wins over UC. Returned to the lineup after missing 19 days with a knee injury, driving in a run at UK (4/8). Was 2 for 3 with three RBI in win over UConn (3/20). Tripled and drove in two runs in win over Xavier (3/11). Drove in a pair of runs on two hits in win over NCA&T(3/2). Cracked a single in his only at bat against The Citadel (3/1). Drilled an RBI pinch-single in the ninth inning against CSU (2/24).

Blinn CC: A two-time First Team All-Region selection , hitting .341 with 13 doubles, eight home runs, 36 RBI and a .992 fielding percentage his freshman season. Hit .335 with eight home runs, 15 doubles, two triples and 49 RBI his sophomore season. Played with Cardinal signee Layton Hiller.

High School: A three-time All-State selection at Gregory-Portland HS, the lefty hit .463 with 18 doubles, five home runs 20 RBI and posted an 8-3 record, 1.93 ERA and 111 strikeouts on the hill for the Wildcats. Batted .440 as a junior. Named First Team All-State tight end on the Texas 4A football team in 2004.

Personal: Born on 12/31/86 to Kevin and Julie Mickits in San Antonio. Has one younger brother and one younger sister. Is majoring in sport administration and would like to go to law school and raise a family after college. His dad is his biggest influence on his athletic career. Like to hunt, fish and play cards in his spare time. Click, The Patriot and 300 are his favorite movies. Likes to watch SportsCenter on TV. The Spurs and Cowboys are his favorite teams and Manu Ginobli is his favorite athlete. Likes Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds, Twix, Mexican food and Papasito's restaurant when it comes to culinary favorites. Listens to Texas Country music. His dad played football at SW Texas State. Would like to playa round of golf with Tiger Woods, Emeril and his dad.
