2015: Earned All-ACC Second Team honor and finished 8-1 with a 3.36 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 16 starts on the mound. Improved to 8-1 on the season after striking out six in seven strong innings against Michigan on May 31 to clinch NCAA Regional title. Struck out eight in earning seventh win of the season in April 26 triumph against Bethune-Cookman on April 26. Suffered no-decision on April 18 against Wake Forest despite allowing just one run on three hits with five strikeouts in 7.0+ innings. Named ACC Pitcher of the Week on April 13 after a 2-0 week on the mound. Won fifth straight start allowing just one run with seven strikeouts in five innings against Duke on April 12. Delivered seven shutout innings allowing just three hits to win fourth straight start and clinch series sweep at nationally ranked Virginia on April 6. Won third straight start and moved to 4-1 overall after striking out six in six innings against No. 28 Georgia Tech on March 29. Improved to 3-1 on the season after striking out six in 7.1 shutout innings against No. 22 Notre Dame on March 22. Earned second win of the season on March 15 against Boston College after scattering seven hits and allowing two runs with two strikeouts in 6.1 innings. Allowed just one earned run on five hits in five solid innings against No. 10 Miami on March 8. Earned first win of the season after striking out nine in 6.2 innings of shutout work in the start against Xavier on March 1. Allowed just two hits and was one strikeout shy of equaling career high in clinching series win for Cardinals in the March 1 performance. Suffered the loss in first start of the season against No. 17 Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 15.
2014: Closed first collegiate season with a 3-3 record, a 3.63 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 52.0 innings pitched, including nine starts and 14 total appearances. Allowed only one run on four hits with five strikeouts and no walks in six innings to earn the victory in Cardinals' 4-1 win over Kentucky in NCAA Regional title game. Had career-long outing working eight innings and allowing only one run on four hits with career-best 10 strikeouts in May 16 win against Cincinnati. Came out of the bullpen for 2.1 innings of shutout relief against UConn on April 27. Earned first collegiate victory against Western Kentucky on April 22 after allowing just one run on three hits with five strikeouts in seven innings in his fifth career start. Had career-high six strikeouts while allowing just one run on three hits in career-long six innings at Purdue on April 8. Pitched four shutout innings with two strikeouts and allowed only two hits in first career start at Western Kentucky on March 26. Made collegiate debut by striking out two in a perfect inning of relief at Indiana on March 19.
High School: All-State player and No. 2 rated left-handed pitcher in Midwest prior to undergoing Tommy John surgery in spring of 2013. Competed in East Coast Showcase and Area Code Games and was a Team USA invitee. Three-time All-Conference honoree. All Area Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2011. All-State Honorable Mention. Career wins and strikeouts leader and lowest all-time ERA and WHIP at New Albany High School. Posted career line of 24-2 record with 1.07 ERA and 259 strikeouts as a prep pitcher.
Personal: Born on July 10, 1994 in New Albany, Ind. Son of Bobby and Eldora Rogers. Has two siblings, Haley and Chase. Majoring in sport administration. Plans on playing professionally after college. Hobbies and interest include horse racing, golf and pick-up basketball. Favorite movies are Taken and Taken 2. Favorite foods are Chinese and Mexican. Favorite music is rap and hip-hop.
