2010: Did not allow a hit or a run in his two appearances out of the bullpen for the Cardinals. Pitched 1.0 scoreless inning of relief with one strikeout against Le Moyne on March 5. Made his first appearance of the season out of the Cardinals' bullpen with 1.0 inning of scoreless relief and one strikeout against Michigan State at Big Ten/BIG EAST Challenge.
2009: Made seven appearances out of the Cardinals' bullpen in his first season. Finished with a 3.38 ERA and did not have a decision. Allowed the first runs of his collegiate career against Ohio State on May 5. Retired the one hitter he faced on April 25 against Notre Dame. Pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning against IU on April 7. Recorded the final out in the Cards' loss at Seton Hall on March 28. Pitched a scoreless 1.1 innings of relief, allowing only one hit with two strikeouts against Milwaukee on March 6. Made his first career appearance, retiring the only two hitters he faced in the ninth inning of the Cards' win over Western Michigan on March 4. Named to AD Honor Roll and a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
2008: Redshirted in his first season with the Louisville baseball program.
High School: A 6-7 southpaw who was an All-Conference selection, he went 4-1 with a 3.20 ERA and 30 strikeouts his senior season. Competed in the Perfect Game Wood Bat World Series in Atlanta over the summer. Earned a letter in basketball as a power forward, making All-Conference and All-District.
Personal: Born in Cleveland, Ohio on Sept. 28, 1988, to Mary and Ralph Stilphen. Has two brothers and a sister. Is majoring in business and would like to attend law school. His brother, who played basketball at Marist College, is his biggest influence on his athletic career. Lists music, drums and movies like Big Lebowski, Shawshank Redemption and Saving Private Ryan as his hobbies and interests. Watches SportsCenter, The Simpsons, The Hills and Newport Beach on TV. His favorite athletes are Paul Sorrento and Craig Ehlo, and he cheers for the Indians, Browns and Cavs. Loves Buffalo wings at Buffalo Wild Wings and Penn Station subs. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is his favorite cereal and Milky Way is his favorite candy bar. Likes to listen to Hootie and the Blowfish, Dave Matthews Band and Bob Marley. His mom played basketball at Marquette and his uncle was a star linebacker at St. Ignatius and at Marshall. He would like to go to dinner with Charles Barkley, Sandy Koufax and Eva Longoria. He once drove a golf cart into a lake during a round of golf.
