Had two strikeouts in scoreless ninth to close May 15 win against No. 10 NC State and complete series sweep. Worked a perfect inning of relief in Cardinals’ May 3 win over Cincinnati. Earned first win of the season after pitching scoreless ninth inning in Louisville’s walk-off win over No. 12 Kentucky on April 12. 2014: Finished with a 9-1 record, a 3.40 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 76.2 innings pitched and 14 starts during second collegiate season. Improved to 9-0 on the season after striking out seven in six innings to lead Cardinals in clinching victory over Kennesaw State on June 7 in NCAA Super Regional. Remained unbeaten in collegiate career after allowing two runs on five hits with six strikeouts in seven innings in NCAA Regional victory over Kansas. Moved to 7-0 on the season and won his 12th game overall after allowing just one earned run on four hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings against Rutgers at American Championship. Won his sixth game of the season after striking out six and allowing only two hits in seven shutout innings against Cincinnati on May 17. Improved to 5-0 on the season allowing two runs on two hits in five innings against UConn on April 27. Won for the fourth time working a season-high seven innings allowing two runs on five hits with five strikeouts at UCF on April 18. Personal: Born Anthony James Kidston on May 18, 1993 in Bryan, Ohio. Son of John Kidston and Linda Everheart. Has one brother, Lucas. Majoring in sport administration. Biggest thrills in sports were playing in Cary, N.C., at the USA Trials, playing at East Coast Showcase and playing in the baseball state championships in Ohio. After college, he wants to play professional baseball. Person with the greatest influence on his athletic career is his dad because he was with him throughout his childhood. Hobbies and interests include playing PS3, riding four-wheelers and outdoor activities. Favorite movies include The Shawshank Redemption and Law Abiding Citizen. Favorite TV channel is ESPN. Favorite candy bar is Snickers. Favorite restaurant is Chipotle. Favorite team is the Cleveland Indians. Dad John played basketball at Indiana Tech.
