2016: Made eight relief appearances in debut season with the Cardinals. Worked one inning of shutout relief in March 29 win at WKU. Had one strikeout in a scoreless inning of relief at Purdue on March 23. Finished with a pair of strikeouts in 1.1 innings of shutout relief against Xavier on March 15. Had two strikeouts in a perfect inning of relief against Princeton on March 5. Finished with one strikeout in an inning of shutout relief in debut with the Cardinals against SIU Edwardsville on Feb. 20.

2015: Redshirted and did not see game action in first season in Louisville.

Before UofL: Played one season at St. Catharine College and one season at Volunteer State Community College. Was 6-3 with a 2.00 ERA and 75 strikeouts at St. Catharine and earned First Team All-Conference honors. Had a 1.90 ERA in his one season at Volunteer State.

High School: Three-year letterwinner in baseball at Central Hardin High School where he was earned All-State honorable mention and was an All-Region and All-District selection. Was 15-1 on the mound during his final two prep seasons. Was a member of Central's 2011 state championship winning club. Also earned two letters in golf and played one season of basketball at Central Hardin.

Personal: Born on May 7, 1993 in Elizabethtown, Ky. Parents are Gaines and Jennifer Shoffner. Has one brother, Josh. Majoring in sport administration. After college, he wants to play professional baseball. Person with the greatest influence on his athletic career was his dad who coached him as a young player for many years. Hobbies and interests include deer hunting, turkey hunting, golf and basketball. Favorite movies is 8 Mile. Favorite TV channels are ESPN and Outdoor Channel. Favorite candy bar is Reese's. Favorite foods are steak, hibachi and seafood. Favorite teams are the New York Yankees and New York Giants. Favorite restaurants are Texas Roadhouse and Las Chalupas.
