Northern Kentucky: Spent two seasons with the Division II Norse, winning a conference championship. Limited opponents to a .229 average, posting a 1-1 record and an ERA of 4.00, taking the hill eight times as a freshman. Limited to three appearances his sophomore year.

High School: Picked up two letters in baseball at Trinity, where he was teammates with Cardinal quarterback Brian Brohm. Went 6-1 as a senior with a 1.20 ERA, helping the Shamrocks to the state semifinals. Named Trinity's Most Valuable pitcher, All-District Tournament team and Semi-State MVP after tossing a one-hitter in the semi-state championship. Made the All-Region Tournament team as a junior, posting a 4-1 ledger and a 1.80 ERA.

Personal: Born 9/23/85 to Ron and Barbara Barnett in the Ville. Is majoring in exercise science at U of L. Would like to be a coach after college. Has three siblings, including a twin sister. Enjoys hanging out with friends, playing video games and sleeping in his spare time. His favorite movies are 40-Year Old Virgin, Dumb and Dumber and Seven. Likes to watch Family Guy, Nip/Tuck, MythBusters, Dirty Jobs and Chappelle Show on TV. His favorite athletes include Chad Johnson, Lebron James, Michael Bush, Reggie Bush and Ken Griffey Jr. His favorite foods include steak and potatoes, fruit and sandwiches. Listens to anything but country music. His dream dinner guests include Jesus, Batman and Carmen Electra.
