
Cardinals Set School Record at Day 2 Prelims at NCAA Championship

ATLANTA -- The University of Louisville set a school record on Day 2 of the NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships Thursday morning at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech.Â

Jackson Millard set the school record in the 400 IM with a 3:38.17 to finish third in his heat and ninth overall to earn Honorable Mention All-American Honors. Gregg Enoch posted a 3:42.60 to touch seventh in his heat and 24th overall. Tommy Bried turned in a 3:43.25 for 27th.  Cal's Ryan Erisman dropped 2.85 from his entry time to post the fastest prelim time of 3:36.09 to be the favorite going into tonight's finals.Â

In the 200 freestyle, Guy Brooks put up the second fastest time in school history with a 1:31.48 to finish 11th overall. Tennessee's Koby Bujak-Upton's 1:30.67 makes him the favorite for tonight's finals.Â

Jake Eccleston put up a 52.26 in the 100 breaststroke to finish 31st overall. Texas Longhorn Nate Germonprez was the only swimmer posting a sub-50 time with a 49.80 and will be the favorite tonight.Â

The Louisville 200 free relay team will compete in the championship final tonight with an entry time of 1:14.91.Â

Diver Rayce Winn finished 13th on the 1-meter springboard with a score of 328.55 to become the first male diver to score at the national championship.Â
